Just seen that it's been announced that BT Sport will have exclusive rights to Champions League Football from 2015.

That's a big loss to Sky and I'm surprised they let it go.

On the plus side we will get to listen to Michael Owens exciting commentary even more..........oh joy!

I don't mind the BT commentary teams.
I am not really aware of them, like a good referee.

Beginning of the end for Sky football in Europe I think.
Probably have a big influence on the EPl.
I would imagine that they will invest heavily in the far east.

If I'm not mistaken my sky package went up by around £1 a month not long a go.

I can't get Virgin where I currently live so I'm kinda stuck with them.

Threaten to leave,I'm on 20% reduction for another 9month,have been for past 3yr. It's worth a 10min phone call.

But it will be cheaper than SKY and at least some free games as well as free finals

thats great if all you want sky for is the champions league, if you want it for other coverage, which almost all will, then you'll end up paying more for having both an increased price BT and Sky

Finals are normally shown anyway on terrestrial TV if I'm not mistaken? BT coverage is dire currently in comparison to Sky so can't see many people switching from Sky to BT just to watch the Champions League.

The problem is it will cost the customer more money as we'll end up signing up to both.

I'll pick which ever has the golf

Same here, golf is the main reason i have the sports package on Sky but i do enjoy watching the Champions League.

I'm a bit annoyed being a Everton fan that both derby games are on BT and the away game is on a Tuesday night!!!

Going to Virgin everything when we move next month and have BT and Sky as part of the deal so it isn't an issue. I am surprised Sky have let it go and would imagine they will do what ITV do and get one match per week and focus on one team

Heard the interview that said they will show an English team playing for free most weeks but there would be a charge for other games, the finals of both competitions will be free.

He said that Sky costs £40 per month for the sport and they will be considerably lower priced. They seem to have forgotten that Sky Sports includes golf, rugby, cricket, underwater scrabble and many other sports that make up the £40 -I will not pay Sky and BT!
