Anyone from the forum going to this event on 6th-7th May? I will be there on the Friday practice day and then the Sunday with my reporting hat on. Would be good to catch up with other people here.

I was just taking a look and might be. Undecided at the moment.

Think I'll see what the weather is like and get tickets on the day.

Also waiting to see the parking arrangements are as there isn't much in the website about it, which is a surprise as it's only just over a week away.

I've been fortunate enough to have been invited to play in the PRO-AM on the Friday which could only be good experience. Just shocking at golf currently!!

I was trying to find info about the pro-am and spectator details but couldn't see anything on the website. Info seems to be a bit scarce on the whole event, just starting to get the impression it could all be a bit half arsed.

If I wasn't working I would be there to watch. Hope it all works well and I can make one of these events.

I am going to cover this event with an open mind as I was pleasantly surprised about how well the Perth Sixes event worked on the European Tour earlier this year. But this strikes me of being a total gimmick and it would take a lot to convince me otherwise.

Well, it appears to have a deeper field than the Portugal Masters this week. Maybe give it a chance before slagging the concept off.

Presume you've played the course as you've picked 6 decent holes. Which ones would they be then?
Looks all very chavvy if you ask me - not proper golf. Interestingly they picked a course with only 6 good holes for a 6 hole event - let's hope they play the 6 good one!!!

The first 4 and 18 plus one of the London Club looking ones by the hut. Best Halfway Hut I have seen in a long time though!

I've played it a few times and cannot really fault ANY hole - they are all very good with the only possible criticism being that 8 and 10 are a tad same-ish! 18 reminds me of 2 or 3 other other 18ths, so, for me, not quite the 'stunning finish' envisaged, but a good hole just the same.

There has obviously been some developments there since I last played it - the proper clubhouse was about to be started (it was a damn fine 'temporary' one though!) and there was no 'halfway hut' when I last visited.

Still very young, so may get further definition over the years - though it's only the start that really involves significant numbers of trees - so the 'links-like' style may continue to dominate!

Pretty sure the Pros will have a field day, but that's not particularly the point - it's how they do compared to their colleagues/fellow competitors that matters! As for the format...I'll wait and see,. I hope it's a success, but I still favour the traditional 72 hole individual format!
