26 of us off the Celtic Manor at the weekend for two rounds of golf, playing The Roman Road course first & then Monty course on sunday. Really looking forward to it!!

Anybody played there recently?

I am a member there, you should have a cracking time. Both courses in great nick at the moment. Don't expect a quick round tho. It's really busy with so many deals on at the moment that a 5hr round in the norm. Recommend the half way house on the Monty. Order it before u tee off on the 9th and its ready for you near the 10th tee. The Monty is very hilly so if you are tempted with a buggy go for it on the Monty. The Roman Rd is more flatter with lightening quick greens. Enjoy it, its a good challenge of the short game!

I'm a member there too. Played the Monty for the first time in a while last Sunday and found it in good condition. Greens were pretty rapid, I managed to putt off the second green !!

Some bunkers are pretty deep and can cause you a bit of grief.

As rustywedges says the Monty is quite hilly. The walk from the 3rd green to the 4th tee is a bit steep if you go the direct route, but isn't that bad if you follow the cart path.

The walk from the 16th tee to the fairway is a beauty too.

Not played the Roman Road for a while, but a good course, some tricky greens but I think it's the better course of the two.
