In the above link Catrina Matthew complains of a lack of sponsors after being the first Scottish woman to win the Ladies British Open,she goes on to say that had she been a man she'd have got more out of it.
IMO if she wasn't a miserable sour face she might get more sponsors, but she cant be arsed to play in the Ladies Scottish Open at Archerfield ,the course that she is attached to, because she's on the LPGA that week ,sounds to me she wnts her cake and eat it miserable sod.
 
Think it's just a reflection of the women's pro game, there's not much interest in it from the public.

In some sports such as tennis and athletics the ladies game is arguably as good to watch as the mens. With golf however it just doesn't come across that way. The courses seem to be set up easy for short iron approaches with an army of 5'0" players from the far east robotically playing target golf with wedges into soft greens and winning everything.

I used to love watching the ladies play, but these days it's rubbish. I'd have more fun watching the hacker biddies at my course.

Actually, I do feel a bit sorry for her.
 
I don't think its harsh at all she say's is golf her only income,unlucky eh,oh to have that worry.If you look at the American,Asian players there covered in sponsors they seem to have a of charisma where she walks about with the hairs of arse tied together afraid to smile,but to miss the Scottish Open at the course she is attached to is a bit much IMO.
Feel sorry for not at all.
 
Funny this topic should come up today for me as last night one of the lads at the club i play at had the actual irons she used to win the ladies open last year. so he tells me anyway...

Catrina Matthew, fine Scottish lady and Major winner, deserves loads of sponsorship and the right to graze her cattle in any field she chooses!

Hope she wins another couple of biggies.

Haha ,what cracks me up is she's already a millionaire i presume and she complains her only income now is from golf ,a bit cheeky don't you think,and here's me working 12 hour night shifts tonight and tomorrow night to make a crust,think its a bit of a hardneck IMO.
These new tablets i've got for my ticker make that laid back i'm horizontal now, i just like a moan every now and then :) :),oh and about my golf well i'll not mention that
 
she plays the US tour where most of the money is just like Casey, Poulter etc. She won 200K for her title after a few weeks off after having her kid, dont think she needs to be slagged off buddy for that. give me a shout and I'll show you how good you can play compared to me :D It'll cheer you up anyway ;)
