Amazing footage of a family cat coming to the rescue of a small boy being attacked by a dog.

When you see the damage done to the wee mans leg in literally a couple of seconds it goes without saying that if that cat hadn't have been there this wee man would probably have been killed. Frightening that a so called pet dog would just attack a child with absolutely no provocation.

Well done that cat

Incredible on behalf of the cat!

Have heard it was a stray dog.

Saw this earlier. Fantastic effort from the cat. I also heard it was a neighbours dog and known to the boy. Not sure what I'd like to happen to the animal. Never want to see any creature put down but clearly its a danger

What an amazing cat!

Surely the dog has to be put down. That sounds harsh but you can't have a dog attacking small children like that, and it will more than likely do it again.

I agree, it should be put down and the owners fined (or some other punishment) for not having their dog under control. It winds me up that people think it's ok to allow their dogs to wander around freely like that. My dogs are probably about as soppy as they come and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't hurt anyone but I still don't trust them 100% as you never know what could make them snap.

Kudos to the cat though, I hate cats but that thing gets a  from me.

Especially when it's unprovoked like that. Sadly it's a no brainier.

Dog definitely put down and owners never allowed to have animals as pets again

Tbf tho my dog got out of my garden a few week back due to some idiot that was doing some work next door. He left my gate open & watched my dog run through the neighbours house & never thought to let me know.

There are always those kind of incidents I admit
