Anybody know anything about the new rules for CASC and how they affect golf clubs please.

Additionally how do golf clubs overcome the maximum £520 fee although this figure could be my error..

not trying to be clever but there have been advisory documents from all the Golf Unions, national body as well as Government and quasi government bodies focused on golf clubs - they are all online

that was the easy bit!

I don't think there is enough yet to really get to grips with the practical aspects of the various limits - £520 is only the limit associated with those on low and modest incomes; you have a absolute maximum as well. The rule is that Clubs that charge more than £520 a year must make special provisions for members on a low or modest income to participate for £520 or less, subject to an upper membership fee threshold of £1,612. Whether HMRC are able to provide a sufficiently clear template as to how clubs are required to comply with the regulation in practice is still, I believe, unclear!
