Cars over £40k

Does anyone know if there is an online database that shows the cost of new cars? I'm looking at changing my car and will be buying 2nd hand but don't want to go over the £40k new price as it incurs the much higher annual road tax. A couple of the models I'm considering could easily break that barrier by the time any extras are added to the on the road price.

I've tried a google search but not found anything.....thanks in advance.

Whatever you buy, if its petrol or diesel, the resale value may not be much in the future.

If I had that money I wouldn't be looking passed the car below (and it's in Bournemouth)
0-60 5.4 sec
Top speed 140
Range 312 miles
Boot size...
Seats up..774 L BMW 5 Series...530 L
Seats down...1645L
Road tax £0
5 door, 5 seater
Leather interior
plus all gadgets
£31,500

And it's gorgeous

What happens when something goes wrong? Or when the batteries are buggered after a few years?

(not trolling, I love them but that's my big reason for holding off)

Then what happens? There was a shop under my office, but i've never seen a dealer/service area.
I thought the servicing of them was done at a very few Tesla centres aroudn the country, for example in the South I believe it's at Gatwick......

Edit: Just seen Bobs link...... still not many across the country, and quite a few " coming soon;) "

As much as I do love the look of the Tesla, practicality had to play a part. Nearest "super charging" point to me is 15 miles away in Edinburgh. Also, real world range is never going to be 320 miles, my mates P85 gets him, at best, 195 on a full charge. With 260 miles rated and him driving like a nun for the 195 miles, it's a bit misleading. Like BMW saying I will actually get 40mpg from my M340i but the reality is closer to 26-30 at the minute.
I know there are big advances in battery and powertrains but the tech just isn't there yet from either the usability or the support and charging infrastructure points of view.

A bit off topic and a personal opinion, but Teslas look like pimped up Vauxhalls to me. ???‍♂️

Check out a YouTube video from CarWow where they did motorway mile testing on six EV cars to see the maximum distance that could be obtained. Tesla did 260 miles and the worst was 190 miles, based on driving very sensibly.

My son just got himself on those. Very weird to be in initially as there is no dash and no obvious passenger controls for vents etc. Loved the performance.
