My club put lots of rope up around the greens in the winter to reduce damage by trollies, which is fair enough. So this year Ive decided to carry. My question is when carrying do I need to carry all my clubs or do people have an idea that a short set will do during the winter? If so which clubs do they carry. :D

Entirely your choice. I always carry and have a full set. Most of the modern carry bags don't weigh very much at all. I use a Mizuno Aerolite DLX bag and I barely feel it on my back.

Same here for me, a full set as usuall. I also make sure I give the bag a good clean out. Last winter after one of the first carrying rounds thought bit heavier than I thought, cleaned out to find about 30+ balls in different pockets! So clubs, dozen balls, waterproofs if not all ready wearing them and a drink.

If playing a match or comp I carry a full set, if playing a bounce game or practising I tend to leave a few out, something like Driver, Hybrid, 4,6,8,PW,54,Puttter, though sometimes carry more wedges too as thats often what im practising

A Dozen balls?! Not much confidence in your game then? ;)

But you're right, if you make sure you don't carry stuff you don't need, makes a huge difference.

Our club bans trolleys in the worst of the winter weather and we have to carry.

I HATE IT!!!

This year I'm going to carry half a set and about five balls.

Last year it felt like I lugged most of my possessions around the course!!!

I'm carrying over the winter, mainly because I hate these hedgehog tracks that our club insist on.
I'll carry a full set - not really much weight difference in a full set and taking 3 or 5 clubs out.

I will use my gokart with hedgegogs where possible but keep an old carry bag in the locker over the winter in case there is a sudden ban. I don't really have too much of an issue except for when there is a chance of rain and you're suddenly lugging waterproofs as well

Im carrying over winter, conscious decision to try and lose a couple of pounds. Bought myself a slim Titleist stand bag that does fit a full set but i think i am going to take a few out as the full set is a little cumbersome when trying to take out, and put clubs back in. Thinking of carrying ;
Driver
5 wood
6,7,8,9,pw,sw,lw
Putter

First winter playing golf and I am going to carry as the club do fence a lot of the fairway off over the winter period and I can't be bothered to keep going back to my trolley to change my club. Im looking at the Nike performance bag myself.

Am also going to carry over winter and am buying ogio ozone as i find my sun mountain too flimsy. Will carry driver or 3 wood, 5,7 woods, 5-sw and maybe the lw see how i am feeling plus putter and 5 balls

Damn right I have no confidence!! Never needed them all yet but been close! And we have loads of trees when the leaves fall it can be a nightmare to find the simplest ball!!

I find it easier to carry in the winter - hate having to put the trolly 50 yards from a green.
But in the summer I struggle carrying in the heat and hiking the hills.
Thus carry in the winter, trolly in the summer.

No trolleys on oor wee track in teh heart of winter (the wheels spin in the snow...)

I'm picking up a wee lightweight Slaz from JJB next month ( 25% off just now) and putting my padded straps on it

Instead of usually packing every piece of golf clothing I have - I'll just wear them all instead.

Full set & a flask of coffee though...
