Carrying clubs on the tube

This reminds me a of a story about a guy I know who was cycling home from the golf after a few scoops with his bag over his shoulders. He clipped an old lady leaving a supermarket with her shopping and ended up in a heap on the footpath. Shopping bags and prov's everywhere. The old lady went over to him to see if he was ok after he nearly killed her. Makes me laugh every time I think of it.

When I was about 15 I was going up the local park on my push bike, carrying a few loose clubs to whack a few balls. I fell off and snapped both bones in my arm quite badly and had some pins put in there for good measure. I have not attempted this since, it did sting a little.

Not the best idea I ever had! Just came back from a golfing weekend away and had to bring them home on the tube. Carnage trying to navigate my way around!!!!!

Been there done that! Even better when the strap breaks! And on the train when there's a Rugby International at Twickenham!

For a while, I used the 'booss' from Edinburgh to Silverknowes too.

Have taken clubs on train to play a few times, most recently a few weeks ago to Crowborough for a knock with Smiffy, PNWokingham and Chrisd. Took just over 2 hours from Watford Junction with a change and 30 minute wait at South Croydon - got seats no problem and then clubs up in the luggage rack above. Was a pretty relaxing couple of hours - read the papers, a bit of my book, listened to my mp3 player, and had a couple of teas.

Best journey I had though was to play at the Belfry. Again from Watford Junction direct to Tamworth and collected at the station by my mate. Got myself a cheap 1st class return for about £30 - had the first class carriage to myself both directions!

Do clubs fit in the luggage rack above seats? I try not to take them on the train as I don't trust people if I leave them in the luggage section at the end of the carriage.
