Carrying clubs for a FC

This is a hypothetical question prompted by something that happened this morning. After the heavy overnight rain, trolleys were banned. One of the people I was playing with didn't know about the trolley ban and only had his cart bag, so just elected to carry a few clubs in his hand.

The question is this: could I have carried his clubs in my bag, provided I did not use them and he did not use mine? (I know that if we were partners we could share clubs so that would be ok, but I'm talking about where you're just FCs). And if it is OK to carry a FC's clubs, is there a problem if there are more than 14 clubs in the bag, even though they are for different players?

I suppose it boils down to this: FCs are not allowed to share clubs, but are they allowed to share a bag?

I suspect this would be okay as I can't see it's explicitly covered in the rules.

There is a decision about putting a 'partners' clubs in one bag and that's fine:

... but it's the highlighted bit that bothers me. AFAIK even if your partners (ie. Betterball) you still can't share clubs!

You can providing there are no more that 14 clubs between you.
