anyone watching this tonight?

i'll be honest,i don't like carl froch that much.he's too loud for my liking,i like andre wards cool calm and collected approach.lets let the fists do the talking mentality.

there's no denying that froch has a heart of a lion but he has to tbh because he lacks speed and boxing skills to comptete with the better guys.i've seen him get outclassed but for him to come back late on and just wear his man down which is great to watch....but for me if you are that kind of boxer then the last thing you need to do is run your mouth like he does!!!

i see andre ward outclassing him with much better crisper shots,his speed will be too much for froch and when froch misses short with his jab andre will counter with his overhand right which froch won't see coming.

Froch's determination in my opinion will make all the difference, i think he will win, but it will be a very close fight and will probably go to the judges cards!!!
 
I'd like to watch it but I'm not sure I'll stay awake! :)

It will depend if Froch can tag him. If he does he'll win but if it goes the distance, then the slippery Ward will win on points.
 
i agree with wull not a fan of froch , think he will come unstuck tonight , good boxer but needs to keep it shut & let his skills do the talking .. be good to see a british win tho , american boxing too corrupt
 
Think the ref will have a huge bearing on this, if Ward is given carte blanche then he will win comfortably, if it's reffed with a strong hand then Froch got a far better chance than the prices give him
 
Hope not Fundy but there a good chance the ref will give th 50/50's Wards way, the Khan debacle has done major harm to title fights in the states again , last pac man fight the same , that was fixed so manny & mayweather would both be unbeaten going into a planned fight
 
ref is rumoured to be one who doesnt like to get involved which is bad for Froch's chance. Expect he has to win by 2 or 3 rounds to have a chance on the cards

yep,totally outclassed.he can't beat andre ward,only way he could beat ward would be with a big knockout punch but the problem is being able to catch ward and tbh froch isn't really known for the big 1 punch.he usually wears you down with a few flurry of punches and there's no way he's going to catch ward with that many....

andre wards fighting style reminds me so much of floyd mayweather jnr,so fast,technical and his reflexes and defence are so good.kell brookes is very similar aswell.
 
what was interesting was before the fight the referee steve smoger has said he wouldn't of deducted the points from amir khan after watching the fight back.

i watched this fight and i have to agree.....khan was robbed.there will be a rematch and i think khan will regain his titles.he is just too good not to,he is by far the fastest boxer and technically he is brilliant....his defence is good and his chin is a lot better but a suspect chin is neither there nor there because as andre ward says....any boxer can be knocked out.

Agree. Compared to Ward, Froch was slow and very predictable. He was waiting for that jackpot punch...

Always easy to see it afterwards though. In the heat of the fight the ref gave the decision - rightly or wrongly - as he saw it. Happens in footy every match. Decisions need to made on the spot and sometimes they are incorrect.

Khan robbed - this could be written about any losing team on a Saturday/Sunday/Monday etc etc...
 
but even with the 2 point deduction i still have him winning it.i also would of gave him a 10-7 1st round because the first knock down was not a slip,khan caught him with the left hook iirc so that in itself would of been a contributing factor.
 
Khan was hard done by but as the better boxer he shouldn't of left it so close. He didn't perform to his best and as they say, never leave it in the judges hands unless you have to.

Froch was never going to win on points, he's not as good technically or speed wise as Ward. He was outclassed unfortunately. He showed great stamina and heart but wasn't good enough.
 
Froch was beaten fair and square, as was khan. For me khan was looking past Peterson and eyeing up his next big fight. Big mistake and it showed on the night.

If/when they have their rematch I truely believe khan will win as he will be focused on the person who he'll be in the ring with this time.
