Hi,

quick question, at the moment I try and enter the weekly comps at our course. Should you put each card in after the comp, or should you just put the good ones in ?

I have been putting every card in so far be it a good or bad score, however I play with some people who will only put in a good card as they state they want to get there h/c as low as they can and do not want a increase.

What are your views ?

If you take a card and don't put it in after a comp you would still get 0.1 back anyway so what difference??

How can you enter a comp and not return your card. DQ and up 0.1 surely?

Once you have signed in the comp book, then you are effectively going up 0.1 unless you buffer, or shoot better than CSS. Whether you N/R or not, you go up 0.1.

If you don't want to go up, don't enter.

Even for supplementary cards, you have to tell the comp sec that you are entering a card before playing, so again, you go up 0.1 if you score badly.

You can't just put good cards in.

hi Midnight , I dont quite follow you. Are you saying that some people pay their money for the comp and then dont put the card in after playing if its not worth a cut ? If thats the case they will still get 0.1 back for the NR. Or have I missed your intention ?

I submit every card regardless of score. As much as 28 is pants it reflects my ability at this stage. Once I improve it will come down, if I have a bad round then so be it. Its a hobby for me therfore its for pleasure, not arsed if I win a comp, if I do its because I played well, if not its cos I am not good enough on the day regardless of what my h/c is at the time

just aswell I can't go up 0.1 as I would be off about 40 by now

Hi mate,

that is what I ment, some people pay ther money , but then don't put the card in if they are not going to get a cut. I did not realise that they would still get 0.1 back.
