Got a safety recall letter for our Merc. The only issue I have with it, is that we returned it as per PCP about 10 years ago. How come the DVLA is not updated with it... Am i responsible for informing the DVLA.

on a different note, it is interesting to see safety recalls happen on all new German cars that we have bought over the last 15 years.

Was the letter from the DVLA or form Mercedes? It may be that Mercedes (or the dealer) just went through their old records and sent out letters without waiting for the DVLA to respond.

Just checked .. it is a letter from Merc rather than DVLA.

It had the line
'The DVLA records show that you are the last known keeper of the above car, which we believe could be affected by this issue'
but i assume this a standard template

Lots of new cars have recalls, it’s just that unless it’s a highly publicised one they tend to get done when the cars are in the dealers for service.
My van has had a couple, always done at service.
My Mazda 3 had one, but that was DVLA/VOSA driven and needed a stand-alone booking at the dealership.
