My car insurance renewal is mid-Jan. This year I changed Insurer and went through all the processes as per usual. A cover note was sent out but no Certificate ever arrived.
In April I changed car and went through the process as usual again. I was asked to return the old certificate and informed them that I'd never got it.
Fine they said and life went on.
Now they are wanting me to fill in a "Lost Certificate" declaration.
Now I don't have a problem with this unless it's going to end up on my record as a loser of certificates and affect my premium.
Anyone know if this does...?

It means that all future quotes you receive will have another 150% added on..... thats how the insurance companies normally operate isnt it

My daughter Lydia has just passed her driving test and has had an early indication of how insurance companies operate.
She paid well over £1k to insure her Corsa, which only cost £500.00 in the first place.
Received her insurance paperwork and her certificate said "MR LYDIA SMITH".
She contacted them to point out the error, and was told it was going to cost her £25.00 for an amendment.
"But whoever heard of a man called Lydia" she said. "It's your mistake, and I'm not paying it".
They eventually backed down.
Good old Lyds
