So my car is up for sale in Autotrader. I get a call a couple of weeks back asking about it, how much, about the car bla bla bla. Give the guy my postcode so he can find my house…….Monday afternoon 19th dec, the guy doesn’t turn up.

The bad news…..today I get a call from my insurance asking about the claim, what claim I say. Apparently, some low life scumbag has put in a personal injury claim against me, quoting my car and the road where it happened. Not far from me.

The good news, my car’s been off the road the last few weeks. Nothing wrong with it, it’s 1500 miles short of the warranty millage limit, so it will sell better with VW warranty left on it. That’s the reason I’ve not been using it.

Good news 2, I’ve been getting a lift to work from my mate Chris and tons of people know that.
Good news3, I swipe my works card every morning, the scumbag claims it happened at 8.10 am on the 19th Dec, I was in my work before that time.

Good news 4, my neighbour, an ex policeman has been asking why my cars not been moved of late.

I’ve been in touch with the police and my insurance. The usual, I need to go through a procedure with the insurance. It will take a while but the scumbag didn’t recon on this car sitting at my house.

By the way, FSH 2009 VW Passat highline TDI going for a good price, immaculate.

Some people are unbelievable.

My dad had similar recently. Notice of accident from an insurer. Sadly, although the address was right, it was the wrong name, and post code. Wrong registration too. He had not had any accidents either. It has been dropped. I'm guessing that someone who has had a shunt has made up a name and address for a false registration. Nice. The poor sod who has been rammed will have to claim off their own insurance, and bang goes the ncb.

I'm glad to hear you've got this under control. What a nasty piece of work.
In my world, I reckon a little visit from from the fraud squad ought to be in order.

Oh the joys of fraudulant motor claims. Im back in work tomoorw to deal with this kind of madness. Hope your insurance company get it sorted for you. Who are you insured with?

Mods!! Mods!!!

Shouldn't this post be in the "For Sale" section??

No photos either.:eek: The lengths some people will go to to sell things on the forum ....:whistle:

Glad you seem to have it sorted though Tommo. :)

What a low life, hard luck tommo :( about a month ago my mum was going round a roundabout and a lorry drifted out of its lane and crushed my mums driver door, so the door needs replacing but it wasn't a problem as the lorry driver pulled over accepted full responsibility gave her all his companies details. So 2 weeks later she gets a call from her insurance saying the company are trying to blame my mum even though the driver accepted responsibility and she has witnesses, yet she is still probably gonna lose her ncb.. its just sad the lengths people go to to try and take advantage of others

Me T....I think they will get this low life. He obviously thinks I was using the car and I have about 100 people who know I was in my work that day, long before the time this claimant said it actually happened.

By the way, its a personal injury claim and my car doesn't have a mark on it.

well great thing is your back is covered but it's a shame you have to have it covered........

scumbags that they are, just a shame they won't get a hold of the barsteward!

That doesn't even happen for murder.

An hour alone with a baseball bat would be more beneficial and satisfying.

I volunteer that we get the guy and lie him down with a tee peg in his mouth and all hit driver. Everytime someone clips him they're out. Last man standing wins????
