Do you like driving or find it necessary evil,? the reason i ask is although i have an 80 mile round trip to work daily i have just driven nearly 1100 miles in the past few days taking my son down to Uni in Exeter and i'm knackered.

The M74,M6,M5 must be the most boring road ever so many idiots on them roads the way they drive its nuts.

Don't mind it mate, used to do anywhere from 50-70k miles a year in my previous job.

I am certainly a lot calmer now than I used to be when the tourists stop in the middle of the road to take pictures of stags etc.

I love it :) Im a complete petrol head and have been for years. I love my cars but hate the traffic which at times is beyond stressful and actually contributed to making me ill :( so I changed my job... so I didnt have to commute. I know drive for for fun when I can!! The 500 mile round trip to Cornwall this year was fab!! :) I have slowed down a little bit nowadays......

Even tho the roads were not to busy i just couldn't drive on those roads everyday i'd be demented, anyway the next time he's home he's been told to fly up and i'll pick him up in Edinburgh.

30000 motorway miles a year for me Steve, I know every corner of the M74, M6 from the raith interchange to the M56 junction slip. Sad thing with my travelling is when heading home, I feel its just up the road when I get to the M55 slip north (think Blackpool) and I still have around 170 miles to go.

I quite like driving. It's the other idiots I have to share the road with I don't like ;)

H'mm!

Those are definitely 3 of the most boring roads in UK - M1 is pretty diabolical too.

Spent far too much time on all of those, even though I like driving.

Was the same mate ,nipped into Cheshire Oaks on the way home then realised i still had 290 miles to go ,still managed it in 4 hours but with my back its not the best sitting in the one position for to long.

It never used to bother me to be honest , used to go Manchester to the football a lot and would drive there and back the same day ,must be an age thing:D

love cars and driving full stop, find it quite relaxing. Thankfully with my current job I drive alot late at night/very early morning when the roads are dead, the A1 at 3o'clock in the morning is bliss, only murderers...sorry truck drivers for company. :)
I'll be heading for 40k miles this year. I work from london to scotland on the east coast mainline so the miles can soon rack up.

I'm driving from Bournemouth to Dornoch for a week's holiday, won't mind the drive there but not looking forward to the drive back when my holiday is over :(

Another one in the 30-40k+ miles gang. i dont mind it, i can drive all day and it doesnt bother me. i used to be a proper petrol head and anyone else who was can remember just going out "for a drive" just a nice quiet road and go and tear it up! gone are those days in my 4x4.. not bitter at all..

I was ready to jump in on the distance then realised your another 70 miles past me

I don't drive so much these days but I live close to the Channel Tunnel and Dover Docks and we just get miles of foreign lorries, cars and caravans endlessly hammering up towards the M25. Many accidents, breakdowns and drivers watching tv in their cab whilst driving. It's mad!

All depends what car you do it in i guess. Got a lovely car that i'm lucky to own but i thoroughly enjoy driving it so can do just about any journey no probs

Got a Volkswagen Jetta which is a good car to drive , maybe its the thought of the young lad being at Uni 520 miles away thats hacking me of.

I love driving anywhere in the UK north of Preston........anywhere else is just a survival exercise.

I am always amused at the first time tourists to Scotland who think that Gairloch is just a couple of hours north of Gretna.

Steve ..my daughter went to Exeter, good Uni.

Loved driving on the country roads of Rural Cheshire (except coming round a blind corner to find a tractor) but driving round the city is a pain in the darkside!

I used to love driving. Always was the dedicated driver on nights out, and would always do airport runs for the family etc. Last few years being a bit of a road warrior with work soon put an end to that. Liverpool to Manchester in rush hour is possibly the worst in the country!

Ended up moving jobs and now work less than 2 miles from home - best move I ever made!
