Evening all,
Played today in my first Captains Prize.....I was a little nervous as i wasnt sure what to expect and my recent run of carp form could have thrown up anything......
I played with another 18 handicapper and a chap off 10.....
The course played very long and add to that the near gale force wind and you can imagine the outcome......
Anyhoooo i shot a 99 minus my 18 which is 81 and in fairness with the company i had i thouroughly enjoyed the day...
I even got some words of encouragement from my playing partners about my game saying that i look very comfortable playing and that to be patient that its only a matter of time before my handicap starts dropping..... to my amusement...All good....
I took away alot of positives from the experience even though the score doesnt reflect it...But thats the game for you
What actually let me down today were wayward tee shots due to fighting the wind and my chipping wasnt working either....Roll on next weekend.....

Always hard in the wind although it has been tropical in Berkshire today and not a breath of wind. Its encouraging that others can see some positivity in your game so keep working at it and playing in as many events as you can and it will come

Thanks Homer.....As i said there are positives....Thank God!

Even though its windy it was dry with sunshine so any day you can walk off 18 dry is a good day i suppose... ;)
We have a week of rain on the way anyway which the course will be thankful for.....Its pretty well burnt now..
