Got up really early, shoes polished , clubs clean and looking forward to the first medal of the year. Just thought I would phone the course line to make sure as we had rain yesterday and disaster!! 18 temporary greens and carry bags only. :(

We have just had a lovely couple of weeks on all the greens and the night before the medal we have a cold snap , it freezes all the greens!

AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!

At least you're not under snow again, 1.5" of the white stuff last night now starting to melt - lovely!

After last night's rain all the casual water is back. The huge puddle on the 5th swallowed my tee shot as usual. :(

Herendous rain yesterday & last night, but blues skies this morning & played Lichfield with no problems whatso ever. It was a bit soft in places, but dry in general. Played well over the first 4 holes, with nearly half my stapleford points over those holes. I just couldn't putt for toffee today. :( Had good pace or good line, but never seemd to get both together, except where it hung over the hole over the first few.... bum ! I think the first time I SAW a putt was on the 18th when I just knew I'd chosen the right line.

But course was open. Hoping to get out again tomorrow & Friday before my Nightshift.

Mine was open but way too busy in work to consider a sneaky 1/2 day flexi. Off to the range Friday and a lesson on Saturday so a weekend of hard work to get the game in shape. There are small signs of improvement and hopefully the weather will imrove for the medal next weekend

We started the day with some light snow on top of frozen sleet. By mid afternoon it was all gone. I was at the driving range with a group from my wifes school late afternoon. The sun was out, the sky was clear and in the shelter of the range it was almost warm. By the time I drove home, it was hovering around zero again. Frosty tonight again I think.

Hopefully a bit milder by the weekend.
