We have an nuisance with Canada Geese in the winter, we get approx. 50 geese roaming around a pond two fairways and one green. The green has no damage at all however the fairways get a few skuffed/plucked patches, but worst of all is the incredible ammount of droppings. These are anoying when putting and when the ball lands in them.

Has anyone had this on their course?

Yep - poop everywhere!

Our place is like a wildlife park, loads of Canadian geese, which dig up fairways and greens and poo all over the place. Swans that nest buy the lakes, so if your ball goes within 10 yards of them you can forget about it. Then there's the deer, walking all over the greens and through the bunkers

Nice to see it all though

We have an annual battle for territory between the resedent swans that nest on one of the lakes and a few newcomer Canadian Geese that have started to arrive. The Swans tend to drive them off though as they are a lot bigger and more agressive. Our Greenkeepers also break up any nests the geese make which tends to make them clear off to someone elses course. :whoo:

Disturbing nest is a big no no. Also prosecutable.

Got them bad at the bottom end of the course - so 2, 3, 4, 5, 16, & 17. Often wondered how far one could hit one of the little fluffy ones. Just about right size for a smack with a driver

We have a load of Egyptian Geese. They are bloody noisy things. We have Canadian too and both sets are pooping machines which is a real pain. Still I'd rather have them than a course devoid of wildlife and character

Esp the 12th which happens to be my fave hole. Cut the water and use my natural slice to get to middle of fairway and wedge to green.....Cannot wait to play Wybo again..!

The geese's favourite hole too but not mine. Find it a tough tee shot and then the pin can be in a nasty place especially on medal days!

I can't wait either and hopefully Thursday :whoo:

we have 2 swans during the summer. lovely birds. just dont go near them when their young are about. the go buck mad! a bit of poop on the fairway but its no biggie. its the foxes that kill the young. i think only 2 made it this year!

Yep. Same on my course. They just love 2 of the 5 lakes/ponds we have on the course. A dozen or so Egyptian Geese are about for most of the year and don't seem to make anywhere near the mess. Swans aren't bad, though 1 of the pairs is nutty - took the 5 cygnets across the 18th green, past the clubhouse, out the entrance and down to the shops last year!:mmm:

The other course I play frequently has a similar Canada Geese problem - again, in 2 main areas - though it's amusing sitting in the clubhouse overlooking the 18th watching them stumble their way around the green and across the lake to the short-game practice area. And the Swans there make huge mortar looking messes!

Swans are lovely looking birds and not that much trouble really unless you happen to go near their young if you do then get ready. Canadian Geese are a nuisance though the mess they make is unreal. I like a course with some wildlife around dont get me wrong but some of them are a real pest. Pidgeons are the worst at our place with it being Prkland there are loads of trees around and even a wood bordering some of the holes, the is crap all over the place and the noise they make is enough to drive anyone round the bend. Any pest controllers on here;)

Plenty of wild life on our track, but not too much trouble apart from squirrels nicking stuff out of your bag and deer prints in the bunkers.

Worst for poo is Beverley Westwood, common land with cattle grazing - local rule is free drop if your ball lands in a cow pat - still not pleasant retrieving it mind!

Nice course apart from that though :)
