Looking at getting a new putter, quite keen on the tm white ghost etc. Just seen clubhouse golf got a nice ghost putter reduced to £49 but belly length over £100 discount for obvious reasons but can i shorten it and re grip to reg length?

you can, but it is not ideal as it is likely to be heavier and may also have a different lie angle. Whereas most putter heads are approx 350g, belly putter heads are usually over 400g.

You'd be far better buying a normal length one, even at higher cost

Looked at specs on tm web site and lie/angle same for both belly putter and reg putter only difference as been mentioned slightly heavier head, only 10% heavier may help on slower greeens

I bought one the other month, don't know whether to have it extended 2" so it fits in my belly (they didn't have my size), leave it alone so it's an un-anchored belly (sort of like what Laird suggested he may do when the change comes in as he likes the weight balance), chop it down or crank the loft and bend the shaft to allow for use like Kuchar.

I just bought one of these today and awaiting delivery. Soon as it arrives the pipe cutter is coming out and shortening to 33" exactly as I did with my current putter as I prefer the heavier head.

Think I will buy one too I also think heavier head may be a benefit what grip you going to replace with
