Hey everyone,

I've just had my bonus paid from work and i've been waiting for a while to get some new gear!! Now i have the money to do so, what can you reccommend? (What brands, where to get cheapest etc)

Cheers!

Woods=Ping
Irons=Mizuno
anything else to make up a set eg putter balls etc personal preference. Haplesshacker is flogging some nice Mizuno mx19's for a great price, check 'em out in the for sale section.

It depends on what your ability is, what gear you need and how big a bonus it was. Mizuno make great irons, vokey and TM amongst others do good wedges and Ping, Cally, TM, Titleist all do drivers and woods that could be the answer to your prayers.

My advice is to go somewhere with a large stock (try your pro shop - it pays to support your club pro) and try as many variations of the gear you want with professional advice.

Out of interest - what's your avatar from?

The fun part is trying all the gear, See if you can get your self booked in at a mizuno fitting centre for your Irons. You will be custom fit for about an hour and a half, wont cost you a penny and you are under no obligation to buy (but you will)

The mizuno fitting centre up my way charges you £25 to be C/F

you get the money off the clubs which means you have to buy. Unless you wante to be £25 out of pocket

That's a bit naughty. New Malden don't charge at all, in fact they give you a load of "freebies" when you attend.
I honestly thought Mizuno fitting was free!
Have you contacted Mizzie about this?

Totally agree with Ping woods and Mizuno irons.

it would help the people on here who know what they're talking about if they knew what equipment you've already got and what kind of standard you play to.

They shouldn't do!!

It's only the national centres that do a free fitting.
The very many 'local' centres do charge £20/£25,but as said if you do purchase it can be put towards the cost.
They often fit other makes also.
