The last week I've been playing five out of seven days with another 100 balls from the range each day, I've played that mostly due to having two bad rounds that I wanted to erase.

I've also got five rounds planned this week too. Is this too much?

My brother in law says you can actually play too much which effects your game.

I think he's talking bollox.

Nope to the OP

I play 6 days out of every 8 and have times gone 8 days in a row maybe more

Can never get enough

I think so. Last week played every day Tue-Sun with a fair bit of practice in there too. By Sun I was tired mentally and physically (lower back was killing me!) and happy enough not to play on Mon. I plan to have 2 days off every week but often get sucked into playing more!

Playing, probably not but you can definitely practice too much. If you are just playing 18 holes then I don't think a round a day is too much. Hitting too many balls, ingraining bad habits or focussing too much on one aspect can be negative. Been there!

I think you can play too much. A mate of mine plays every medal round in a season and is out hitting balls at the practice area every lunch time. If I did that I would get fed up with golf. I think a couple days off a week without touching the clubs makes me look forward to the next round more.

definitely

even ruling out any physical issues there's the key issue of retaining a fresh approach to a supposedly enjoyable pastime.

you can also have too much of most things; and again it's not just the volume of food and drink I'm highlighting!

Anyone got jobs?
It really depends on what your looking to do when you play.
As pure enjoyment theres nothing better.
If your trying to improve and putting pressure on yourself,or
trying to get your handicap down rapidly there can be nothing more frustrating.
As someone says EYG

That is the clear difference

I just go out to enjoy myself and nothing else

I could play every day

I've managed to play 3 times a week for the last 3 weeks and probably would happily squeeze in a 4th game, but any more would be too much and I'd not look forward to the next game with anticipation.

Would love to find out. Lucky to have opportunity for more than 35 rounds over the year judging by the last 5 yrs or so... Reckon I'd get bored after 40 or so years of playing every day.

I'd like the opportunity to test the theory. :)

So would i ha .. 3 times a week would do me tho

I do find tho as we are lucky to play through most of the winter the onset of 18 holes is , "Oh Good" instead of "wahoo" 18 holes are back again .. i had planned this year not to play much ib Feb so i would be fresh and mad for golf when the 18 kicked back in .. we got a good run in winter league knockouts (we won) so ended up playing through ..
