Can Watson equal Vardon's record?

I hope Mrs Fisher is sitting in Kingston Hospital with her legs firmly crossed as I think the boy can do it. Personally I hope Westwood does it (my money is on him) but I'l be cheering Fisher on too. I think it would be great for Watson to do it and equal the record and if he plays as consistantly as today in a testing wind he'll be very close.

My bet is for a playoff involving Fisher and Watson. The winner will then be too close to call.

I don't think Tom will do it although I'd like him to, I'm leaning towards Goosen or Furyk, probably Goosen for me.

Fisher has a better links game than Westwood imo so has a great chance.

I'll cry like a baby if TW wins. Don't see why he can't. He has six more majors than any other player in the field.

;) ;) ;)

If he does then maybe he'll go hunting down Jack's record of 18 before THAT OTHER TW !

I hope he doesn't. Would much rather Fisher or Westwood win.

Dont really understand why Watson is being backed before our own boys.

I'm supporting our guys, but I'll not give a damn if Watson wins because he's A) one of the all time greats, B) He's one of the good guys and C) He's 59. Oh and D) he's playing great golf.

Watsons performance in this years Open has been the highlight for me. He has shown how the game should be played, behaving immpecibly on the course, always courteous to his playing partners, and showing the utmost respect to whoever he happens to chat to.
My very skinny wallet would love Goosen to win. But if he doesn't then I can think of no other person out on that golf course today that I would want to win more than Tom.
The long putt he canned on the 18th on day two??? I couldn't have raised a bigger cheer had it knocked it in myself. I nearly smashed the lampshade when I jumped up, fist in the air when it dropped. Missus jumped out of her skin. Whatever happens today, I just wish him well and hope that he shoots a respectable score.
Whilst I would like to see one of "our boys" (Westwood or Fisher) win, they've got many years ahead of them for Major wins. This could/should be Toms last chance and who, in their right mind would begrudge him it?
Is he too old for a Ryder Cup place??? :D :D :D
