Can i start off by saying i hate the look of the slider and think its looks like a piece of cheap tat, especially when looking at the sole. However mine is on the way

Today a group of 10 guys where given the opportunity for a free sldr fitting. The only criteria was you had to have had a driver fitted for you and it cant be older than 2 years. I sat in on the fitting over 5 hours and each golfer gained distance. Lowest was 2 yards and most was 35 yards. All golfers bar 1 had better dispersion too!
Have any forum members tried this driver and lost distance or accuracy?

hands up here!

Not only did it launch way to high it lost a few yards.

fitter tweaked it and it still launched high (which it is designed to do I suppose) and I gained 1 yard. Dispersion the same as my Ping.

I really wanted this to work as a 9* takes no prisoners and I wanted more loft.

Best driver I've ever had. Hit more fairways than I've done for quite a while. And although I'm not overly long these days, I'm pretty much up there with 90% of them. And for the first time in a long while I can work the ball a wee bit.

From above I think it looks fine. As for the bottom, I'd rather have the SLDR than the Covert...

Had mine a couple of weeks now and never hit the ball further......especially into the wind when it really comes into it's own.

So it was longer then.

Granted it was not fitted for me, but I tried the one Kraxx sold to Hobbit and I couldn't get it more than 6 feet off the ground, just did not get on with it at all.

That written, having a club with a shaft in it that suits me may be better but I would very much doubt it. The Jetspeed was the same, definitely marmite clubs.

Tried it against my 910 d3 and no difference bought a ping g15 and I hit that better an further the the 910 so wouldn't benefit me

Found mine to launch too high with the stock shaft. Fitted a Matrix Black Tie & what a difference. Not a whole lot longer in calm conditions but very low spinning & great in to the wind. I have never hit a driver straighter, best driver I've ever had.

Ditto, I'll be doing a review today on my fitting day and the 2 competitive comps I've used it now, with great results.

against my razr fit xtreme, my current driver is averaging 10 yards longer than sldr, plus mine looks cool to so its all good

Yep, my xtreme is still longer than the SLDR as well, which for me, just ballooned up into the air. May be a custom shaft would work better, but as an off the shelf, it was rubbish. Off the shelf, the xtreme is a better fit for me.

I think alot of people who said this driver cant help them have only tried the stock shaft. the stock shaft in the sldr for me was way shorter than my anser driver but as soon as the matrix black tie was fitted it felt like a completely different driver

My anser is 9.5 degrees and i suffer with high launch and high spin. Somehow the sldr 430 12 degree launches higher but with a lower peak hight?????? The fitter did explain but he lost me!

They are not for everyone. If you do not have a decent swing speed then you will struggle to keep the ball in the air for long enough to get any advantage from the reduced spin. Also I imagine if someone bought one without being fitted and they are towards the higher end of the handicap range, then they may well get more distance from a driver that imparts more spin, meaning the ball will stay in the air longer for them, and therefore get more distance. Especially when the ground is wet.

I thought this club launched higher? How does this help when hitting into the wind? Just curious as I always thought you should keep it low when playing into the wind.
