Sorry for venting another rant but I am seething with the policeman who gave a ticket to a motorist sitting stationary in traffic who blew his nose.

As if this is not bad enough the same waste of space ... brace yourself ....

watched a guy walk out of a shop and drop a £10 note from his change and .... BOOKED HIM FOR LITTERING !!!!!!

SURELY TO GOD WE CAN GET THIS TOMMY TANK OFF THE STREETS AND CHARGED WITH WASTING 'OUR' MONEY.

I think if the PC's number is taken down and he was reported for such action (£10 littering) then I'm pretty sure the powers that be would soon intervene once the pulic found out it was the same guy. Reminds me of the old not the nine o'clock sketch with Rhys-Jones as the PC booking people on ridiculous charges

Its all gone mad

I thought that one of the stipulations for bringing a prosecution was that it is in the public interest.

Clearly not

These are occasions where the magistrate should give the CPS and the police a good b*ll*cking, throw the case out and make the idiots who booked him in the first place pay him compensation from their own pockets.

I really wonder sometimes

my Dad was an old time copper who would rather kick someone up the butt than go through all the paperwork for petty stuff. the lawyers are the ones coining it in with all the petty cases today.i find it frustrating when the country is meant to be in so much debt to pay thousands in legal fees for nonsense.

95% of folk with some power use it sensibly. The others should be kicked out, whatever.
The world is truly mad. If I overfill my wheelie bin, they just empty it or leave a note saying "it's too full, sorry".
If I lived 10 miles away, I'd get a fine of £75, even if some kids had stuffed their chip papers under the lid.
No one "litters" by accidentally dropping money (not unless they're completely mad) so I can't see anyone accepting this.

Some of you might have read about a local m-way copper doing 140 mph on the M54. I know some of these guys and they're decent blokes. When the one in question got caught, they refused to punish him in any way.
If I'd been the senior county bloke, I'd have had him publicly critised but in private said "we understand, we had to be seen to do the right thing, be on yer way and don't do it again".
