Hi guys need a bit of help.

I have arthritis in my left ankle and with the cold weather its agony for me to carry my golf bag for more than 9 holes, can I just buy a golf trolley or do I need a new golf bag?

If I do need to buy a new bag and trolley can you please make some suggestions?

Also when I am here, I have a full set of Wilson Staff clubs, do you reckon it would be OK to use a Wilson Staff bag? On top of my usual Wilson Staff polo shirt .

Just buy a trolley, probably £8 in JJB if things are tight. You don't need a new bag as well, just take the carry strap off your current one and wrap a shock-cord round it to hold it on the trolley - it'll be a little 'Blue Peter' but what the heck, it's winter, you can wear what you like.
As for overdoing the Wilson badges, wouldn't bother me. Surely the Polo shirt will be under at least 2 other layers of thermal garments?

No money is not tight ill hire a trolley the next time I play and try the shock cord method before I splash out again (the Mrs is having a moan).

No, im out in my polo shirts with my old skin tight rugby gear on cant stand wearing any big jumpers etc, I really recommend them.

This is the one im wearing right now I just took a practical lesson.

Nothing wrong with the 'sponsored tour player' look, you just need to play like one.

I always think a carry bag on a trolley looks a bit pikey.

I have a trolley (£12.50 special) and use it with any of my 3 bags, which are basicaly carry bags. It looks like a carry bag on a trolley, but I'm not bothered. I have a few bungees in my car boot, to fix it on if it's not too secure.

I'd forgotten how light a carry bag is (with clubs) once on a trolley!!! Might become a permanent trolley dolly.

Nothing wrong with it as long as you are happy. I think we all worry too much about how others preceive us at times! (I'm as guilty, if not more so than anyone!)

Do what ever makes you happy I say!

In winter it doesn't really matter what your kit looks like. As long as the clubs can go in and out of the bag whilst on the trolley and remain (reasonably) dry in wet weather who give a damn what it looks like. If it makes the game easier and more enjoyable for you then grab a trolley and get out there

Get over it adn get a trolley - but beware Heath Robinson araangements with crappy trolleys and/or bungees unless they really work. Once you have a trolley there's nothing worse than having the bag slew around as you go, or a trolley that falls over at the first slope/puddle/puff of wind.
Take it from me, even if I am a weakling woman, you don't want any aggravation to add to a game that gives you enough grief as it is.

htl, you make getting a trolley sound like a plea for martyrdom. What's so heroic about lugging a bag around a course?

Just get a trolley that your bag will fit (as AliB says it's a real pain when the bag twists), strap it on, and get on with it.

and if you want to go for sainthood, get one of those powered trolleys that will pull you round.
