Cambridge, Where to play?

Gogs - think Break 90 is a member so might be free for a game!

Saffron Walden is 30 minutes from Cambridge and a lovely course.

do you know where you are staying as getting across cambridge can be a pain and may dictate your options better

as Fragger says, Gog the best course in the area, other options would include the likes of Bourrne, Girton etc

Paddyc as good as anyone to ask as he tends to play most courses in the area regularly

We are staying at the HallMark Hotel just north of Cambridge.

Gogs would still be first choice for me even though youre on the opposite side of town, from where you're based Girton probably the closest Brampton Park near Huntingdon also a decent option (Philly169 a member i think still) depending on what time of day youre trying to play

Is that the old Menzies Hotel? Has a course attached - not great but not that bad either, if a bit noisy from the A14. Girton is flat and dull imo, Bourn much more interesting. I used to be at Brampton Park and it's a good, challenging course.

It is Amanda, We've played it a few times. Its okay with a few quirky holes but otherwise dull.

newmarket links is nice, teeing off over the gallops on a few holes.

Thetford, Gogs, Brampton all really good.

Bar Hill is ok, nothing special. Same for Girton.

Hey don grange is also OK.

Not done st Ives, bourne or Ely yet but hope to soon.

Wish I had some time left as I would have offered to host you at Cambridge Lakes :D

played bourn last week. Nice layout greens were a bit patchy

Royal Worlington & Newmarket (9 hole course) which was good, quite expensive iirc and a little bit unusual inland links feel about it.

Slightly further afield but I think still in Cambridgeshire is abbotsley golf course, which was nice.
