Played a foursomes medal today and for me it was my the first time ever there and I really really loved it to bits.

Beautifully presented, some truly epic holes and an absolute pleasure to be there. Greens were big and as tricky as tricky things which rolled and rolled and rolled. The whole experience just really knocked me sideways.

It's a Harry Colt layout and I have to take my hat off to the man.

To borrow a phrase form the footballing fraternity - "The lad's done tremendous, Gary!"

Some truly great Harry Colt holes - especially the short Par 4s! The Par 3s are rather good too!

And just to confirm.....He wasn't responsible for the pond on 16!

Wonderful course and happy memories of a GM meet there a couple of years ago.

Good pro shop too - just ask Rickg! :D

Cracking course, enjoyed it every time I've played there

It's definitely a Forum Favorite .TXL (A forum Stalwart )is a senior member there .

Been fortunate to play it 3 times and each time it gets better, they have just remodelled some of the holes back to Colt's original design and relaid some bunkers

Glad you had a memorable day

Played it a few years ago after watching the BMW PGA at Wentworth with Kellfired, cracking course and up there with one of the best I've played.

Would love to play it again now I'm a "better golfer"

Not sure he will like being called a senior. Told me he was 48.

Top course, which seems to be off the radar when rankings are done. The condition has really improved over the last few years.:t I have played it on the hottest day of the year, the coldest, snowing on the first tee, and even teed off the first in a monsoon. Must be the mountains on the course that bring in the extreme weather.;)

Love the course, always say to the misses if our numbers come in we're moving to camberley. One of the swanky pads backing onto it would make me a happy bunny!

I love Camberley and I was due to play there a few weeks ago but was feeling a bit under the weather. Annoyed that I missed out.
I absolutely love the front 9 (would quite happily play it twice!), the back 9 can be a bit leggy for me and I find I'm getting a bit knackered by the time I get to the 17th. Never have played that particular hole well, always ending up in the swales and hollows on the right hand side and scuppering my chances of hitting the green.
But it's a lovely course and I'd like to go up soon to see what changes they have made.

By Jove missus!

Playing foursomes here tomorrow and really looking forward to it after my last knock in May.

Any tips for a good strategy to get us round anyone?

Hit it well?

Never a bad strategy but perhaps a little unspecific :)

Make sure someone makes you aware of the water on the 16th

Yes remember that (modern addition I believe and not very Harry Colt) from last time where I laid up, wedged it to three feet and lipped out for the birdie.

It's a smashing course though and really looking forward to it as long as this flaming torrent has blown through by tomorrow morning.

We played really well but chucked it away. 32 points scored with 35 winning it. Wrong strategy on the 18th taking on the ferocious heather mound and failing, but can't help feeling the marker post on top of the mound is a little misleading - instead for me the better option would be playing the bail out left towards the bunkers and so leaving a shortish iron in.

Two duffs from 20 yards (one each ) and an ugly blob followed. Not to mention another 3 or 4 blunders earlier. Still that's golf and shudda, cudda, mighta wudda just doesn't cut it at the end of the day.

But what a really great day and me and PP really did play pretty well.

Hope to go back there again soon. A great track!!!

Old boys should always go down the left, and leave us youngsters to go straight over the heather mound.

Ah, but I was talking 'bout "today" when I just wasn't catching my driver out of the meat. Next time I'm thinking of taking on the green on the fly :fore:
Swinger did that, and holed the eagle putt. He is an animal though, where as I am sure you are more refined.;)
