I've noticed a growing theme over the last few months that's really winding me up.
On many sites, when reading an article, the bottom line or two is hidden beneath a load of symbols that are of no interest to me.
The symbols are typically as listed;
An envelope,
An RSS symbol,
f like, (I think that's a facebook thing),
g+1, (maybe a google thing),
and a bloody tweet symbol.

I use none of these and they're blocking out text! Is there a way of disabling them?

Not sure how to turn them off but a quick fix could be press F11 to enter full screen mode.

what browser are you using ? Internet explorer, Firefox or Chrome?

There might be a rogue toolbar in the way, try clicking "view, toolbars" and clicking on any you dont think you need

if that doesnt work, shout back

I'm using Firefox and don't appear to have any rogue tool bars.
I'll try to post a screen shot of what I'm talking about!

If it's relevant, I've just noticed that it doesn't happen on my laptop, (Firefox with Vista), but only on my PC, (Firefox with XP).
On my laptop, the symbols are there, but below the script!
I've tried altering the text size but to no avail.
Thanks for your help,

Perhaps also worth checking for (Chrome terms, but must be equivalents) Extensions (in Settings) that differ between the 2 versions.

You can upload a screenshot here: imgur.com then select "upload images" from the top toolbar. 'Browse computer', select file, 'start upload' then it'll take you to the uploaded pic. Copy & paste URL and report back here - screenshot should reveal what the problem is.

Okay, I'm giving Imgur a try!

It's the bit at the bottom of the article. It's driving me crazy!

My initial reaction was that it must be website specific. Do you get it on every website??

Then had a bit of a dig around.
1) Update your Firefox to the latest version
2) There is a plugin (Spoon) that is causing the issue. Check this website.. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/952337 on how to disable the plugin.
3) Practice safe spooning :whistle:

Type 'about:addons' in the address bar and let us know what is in the 'Extensions' tab.

Running such an old operating system though my feeling is that it's probably just a browser issue for Firefox in XP.

Firefox is up to date and has no spoons!

I have the following extensions;

Adblock Plus 2.6.4
avast! online security 9.0.2021.112
New Tab Homepage 0.4.3
NewTabURL 2.2.3
WOT 20131118

I don't think they are the problem .............. or are they?
