Went in to AG to test the AP2s...which I hit OK, he suggested I the XR Pro which felt great, maybe it was the KBS Tour V90 as opposed to the heavier DG S300 but i flushed shot after shot where as the AP2s were a bit hit and miss

From having my mind set on the AP2s I am now confusded again..

Anyone else using the XR Pros? I guess the next step is to try then out on the range and not just the LM

re these the chaps? http://uk.callawaygolf.com/golf-clubs/irons-2015-xr-pro.html Look very nice. What were your launch monitor stats showing when you compared like for like with the XR and the AP's. Clearly you like them and so I think youneed to get out there on a range and try them again aiming at a target and see what happens. If the XR's are easier to hit than the "hit and miss" AP2's then has to be considered too

From what I've seen they are hollow with a separate face like a veneer.

I had Nike Pro combos a couple of years ago and the 4 iron was like that. Went like a bullet when middled but I'd worry about losing any sort of feel in the shorter irons.

Rick Shiels did a video review and loved them, just don't be seduced by the extra distance because no doubt they will be longer than AP2's. Unless you crave extra distance that is.

Might be worth trying to find somewhere with a Titleist fitting cart and play about with a few lighter shafts?

My son tried them at a fitting on Saturday. The stats for them were very impressive, the ball flew off the face faster then Ping G25's and Mizuno JPX. All the figures the pro was looking for were there on the XR's. My son loved them, the balance of the club and the feel were spot on.

Later that day we then played with a guy off 6 who had bought them the week before. He was still getting used to them but he liked them a lot and he never seemed to miss a fairway.

Yep those are the ones. They didn't have the demo ap2 so I wast able to compare the same shaft on both clubs.

I tried the XR's at Leatherhead and they didn't go better than the X2 hot irons but the X2's were so easy to hit. I ended up with JPX 850's and am very pleased with them
