Has anyone had any time comparing the G25 against the XR?

I currently own the Ping G25 3 and 5 wood but both are pretty well used after 3 seasons playing 2 - 3 times a week.

I noticed the price on the XR fairways seem to be coming down. I see they won numerous awards as the best fairway of 2015 but not actually had the chance to hit one yet and with the nearest golf store being around 90 miles away I won't get the chance anytime soon

Just wanted to gather a few opinions of people who have compared the clubs or have went from one to the other and that the impressions are?

May or may not be of help but I moved from the G20 to the X2 Hot - so both the previous models to the ones you're considering swapping. Never got on with the G20 3 Wood and 5 wood could be great (or not)! Found the X2 Hots so unbelievably easy to hit and so forgiving. Great out of the rough and went for a 4 wood which is a great all round club for tee, fairway and even rough. Love the sound of a sweetly struck shot too and overall really happy I made the change.

Tried heaps of others during my fitting - inc Big Bertha, G25, Cleveland, Adams and a few others too. The numbers on the X2 Hot were the best by far. Might be worth looking at the X2 Hot which would be cheaper still than the XR.

Ye seen alot of people giving the same opinion. I currently own the x2hot driver and get on really well with it so will maybe consider giving the x2hot a try. Not sure how easy they would be to pick up now.

Is it the 4 and 7 wood you are using at the moment? That was a set up I was actually considering myself as I don't seem to be able to use the 3 wood of the deck and thought the extra loft on the 4 wood might help

Like Amanda I have the X2 Hot. I did a fitting fit the XR and it didn't go any further, wasn't as easy to hit and sounded worse. I don't think, struck well, that it was much behind Drive4show's M1 the other day

Just had a look and there doesnt seem to be anywhere still stocking the X2Hot fairways so will just jeep and eye out on eBay and see if any come up there in the next few weeks

Not hit the G25 range, but had a go with a XR 4 wood not that long ago and it went like a rocket so I am hoping to get one soon.

Yep - 4 and 7 Wood works really well. Worth keeping an eye out on Ebay.

Tried the XR fairways at a Callaway demo day, I have still got my G25s in the bag make sure you try them before you decide.
