Callaway X2Hot Driver

Anyone got or used one?

Like the look of it, just wondered about any tested opinions?

Got one, love it.

Tried most of this year's drivers on a range and on trackman/flightscope. X2Hot not only came out with the best stats but visibly the best ball flight and distance. *

Used one in the Kings of Distance day.

Felt much better, to/for me, than the BB. Good adjustability (to set and forget). 20 yards gain over my driver too!

cheers chap and chapess:smirk:

I've always like Callaway (still use a steelhead 4+ that leaves most 3 woods behind) but I didnt like the look- nor the price- of the Big Bertha Alpha but this X2Hot is catching my eye, plus I'm also seriously looking at the Mack Daddy2 tour wedges with their straight leading edge.

I suppose its down to the shaft really, whats the stock shafts like? as good as Titleists Diamana stock blue in the 913 I wonder?

*edit* I hate closed faces, can it be set to neutral or even 1* Open if you change the loft up or down? (cant see an answer to that on Callaway website)

I'm also a bit negative about closed faces, but this certainly didn't seem that way. The slight Draw bias was managed with internal weight movement. I was fitted for a light Regular that felt very good (Fubuki 50gm) I think it's a stock/no charge option on one of them. I hate floppy shafts, but this wasn't.

Steelhead 4+ was one of the best FWs ever - that was a pretty good era for FWs! V-Steel, Hawkeyes, Sonartec, TEE, Adams were a cracking kit!

Got one, love it! Never used to carry a driver, only used my 3 wood but I'm hitting this long and straight, easily the best club in my bag.

Couldn't get on with the Big Bertha, felt to clunky...if that helps?

same here - 21 yards gain and suited much better than the BB or Alpha!

Swapped my Alpha driver for one, great move and I love it. The easiest club that I have owned is the Ping G15 but went average 248 yards at Kings of Distance, they fitted me for the X2 Hot and I got 278 yards but was so much easier to swing. I guess that the blue stiff shaft is just a little more forgiving than the shaft in the Alpha but there is no noticeable drop in distance, go try one!

wow 30yds gain is erm...massive. Please tell me it's not the TM 'trick' of a longer shaft? what is this blue shaft? is it branded Callaway or a named make?

It was massive, the Alpha at the Cooden meet was close to 280 yards a few times as I hope Fish and Leftie would confirm. I think that they've used all the tricks but whatever they've done the X2 Hots whether it's irons, rescues or drivers are mahoosive!

The main difference was that the X2 Hot driver felt more comfortable to me and much easier to hit down the fairway. To be fair, I had a hit of Fish's Taylor Made SLDR and that went 275 yards and so easy to hit too, he did have it made a little shorter with a fabulous Black a Tie shaft.

The Aldila blue shaft in the. X Hot driver us one of two stock shafts in that model

lets put it this way the x hot pro i had, had a longer shaft than my mp600 by about an inch and a half. when the Xhot 2 came out i held my Xhot pro next to it and it was longer by about an inch;)

This driver is soooo good I actually had two at one stage!!!

Bought the driver after extensive testing, it was 20 yards past my old Cobra (which I was very fond of) on average with tighter dispersion!!! I have the stock Aldila Tour Blue, playing 45 inches (I hate this obsession with loooooong shafts!!) and it's silky smooth!!! Got the 19 degree hybrid for free with my purchase, was gonna ebay it to save some money on the driver then I hit it!!! BOOM!!! Carried as far as my 4 wood but couldn't miss the fairway!!!

Bought another driver just to get a matching 22 degree hybrid to gap to my 4 iron!!! Now carrying hybrids instead of my old fairway and 3 iron and very pleased with the results!!!

I agree about the 19* hybrid! like all the Callaway clubs - easy to hit and goes miles!

Ive got the driver and it certainly flies of the face, I've hit some crackers with it, the free rescue is a belter, its the best club I've bought that cost nowt.

I've not hit one, but the face looks closed when I put one down on the floor in AG. This put me off straight away, hit the xhot didn't like it at all felt very very cheap. Got the G20 and love it, but I'm interested in the Adams XTD driver just ashame about the price.

Random bump, but I feel as if I need to share my experience with this club.

I'm a new golfer, and always been scared of my driver. I had a cheap Dunlop driver which I could hit 180 yards but about 150 yards right. Huge slice. For that reason, I used to hit my 4i from longer tees.

I had a driving lesson last night and my pro said the driver was crap and to try the X2 hot driver. First time I hit it I hit 240 yards dead straight. I was shocked - I thought it was a fluke and tried again, 5 times in a row I got a 220yrd+ drive pretty straight.

I bought it! It was ex demo so got it for £70 but it's in good condition. I went back to hit the Dunlop after 10 or so good shots, huge slice.

This club is a godsend!
