Have just got the X22tour after trying, mx300, i15, g15 diablo, ap1 and ap2, and tp9 and burner irons. Europro in Portsmouth must have been sick of the sight of me but were brilliant. Some of the irons were just not for me even though they looked good at address I couldn't hit them that well.

I wanted the pings to be the ones and they were better than most but the X22 tour with rifle shafts suited me the best and were straighter and better on distance than any of the others. They are forgiving too - a couple of bad connections still went straight but were just short.

I liked the mx300's too, when I found the sweet spot they felt spot on, but I didn't find them that forgiving!

I took my old titleist 735's, the mizuno mx300 and the x22 tours to the custom fit and the difference was huge, and confirmed they were the right club for me. Bought 4-pw and a jaws wedge and got a second jaws wedge free so got a really good deal too.

Will try on the course tomorrow and can't wait - not expecting instant perfection but know I can hit them well, just need to learn my distances a bit.

i have the same clubs. also fitted, and when my game is on, i have to say the feel and distance i get from the clubs is excellent. you really feel the middle of the clubface(when i find it,lol).
fitting a must, and the callaway fitting is excellent.
good luck with your new weapons!!

thanks v much

I only tried them 20 mins before my custom fit was booked too! I had a last look aound the shop and thought I haven't tried them - took the 5 and 7 irons out and they went so well straight away.

The pro fitting me said after about 5 shots with each of the 3 different makes just said "I think you've found your irons!"

Wasn't gonna bother with a 4 iron either but the ball flight and consistency was so good I had to add that to the set.

Definately agree with what you say about the sweet spot - they are over a club stronger than my 735's, which are good irons in themselves.

I also thought the X22 tours where excellent clubs, but opted for the mx300 in the end, just looked a more sleak than the x22 tours
