Hi, can someone please help me, i am a golfer who hits low to mid 90 scores who is looking to get some new irons, i have been offerd a set of callaway x22 and a set of cobra s9 11 for the same price, both with reg graphite shafts. I can not try these clus out as they are a long distance away. If anyone has got any opions on the clubs please can they let me know.

Thanks
Dave

Thanks, the callaways are from a shop in America which have told me the are genuine do you think this is good enough.

Thanks

I'd be suspect of anything comeing in from the states, whether from a shop or not.

tbh I really can't take to the new look Callaway X22 irons. I think the X20 range looked far better.

If anything on the looks stakes at least the Cobra look the better option.

And as has been pointed out callaways are very likely to be copies over the internet, as has been experienced by another forum member.

Okay looks are not everything , but sometimes its half the battle to inspire confidence & the feel of quality.

Not easily. By the time you check the serial numbers that set will have been sold, and you will get a different set. Pictures can tell sometimes, but not always.

Buying from the states can be interesting, with the import duties etc, it often doesn't work out that much cheaper.

Have you had a good look at the common UK websites (direct golf, Snainton, etc) for these clubs. At least the returns policy will be better, and the sticks the genuine article.

Stear clear from Flea bay too, it is rife with hooky gear.

Thanks so much everyone for your comments i think youve just saved me a lot of heart ache, I have just typed the companys name into google and there are numerous forams with people saying the clubs sold there are fake. Please dont anyone buy anything from ebayoyo.com.

So now ive dicounted the x22 can anyone tell me if they have used the cobra s9 11 or have heard anything about them, these clubs are from England and am certain they are not fakes.

Thanks again to everyone

Thats why i said it, i remeber the argument that was had a couple of weeks ago over graphite shafts :D

You found a decent, or any for that matter, parmo's in Leeds yet? I'm gagging for one!

I tried the S9 when buying my new irons (with graphite). Couldn't really fault them but they were only 5-PW, so when you add on the cost of a 3/4 hybrid and a SW, completing the set does get expensive.

Bear this in mind when making your decision, as you can get a good set of 4-SW or simlar for around £300, which your cobras may suddenly go above once you have bought the extra clubs.

I heard there is a place in Headingley, North street that sells them, not seen by my own eyes though.
