Dropped into Silvermere gc at the weekend, and wandered around the shop (not a complete waste of time, as I bought a purple hat). They have got the new Cally forged blades in.
I have seen these in the mags, and thought they were ugly, but in the flesh they are actually ok. Nice thin lines when looking down on the top, nice compact heads, nice brushed finish, and amazingly, with out being able to put my finger on how they have done it, they have maintained an element of Cally design, such that they couldn't be from anyone else.
I didn't hit them, because I have my ZBs coming, so I can't coment on performance, but they were very nice, and looked suitably expensive.

Very expensive.

£1000 for a set of irons. Blimey. I don't think they will sell many at that price. Not when you can get a set of Mizzys or Titleists for less than £700. Even Miura are only about £200 more.

Whilst not up to a standard where I can hit blades, I recently had a look at the Callawat FT-I irons. Very nice but also could never justify nearly £1000 for a set.

It is still a very good shop, I just don't need anything. They had some unusual gear in there, not just the Cally stuff, but a couple of fourteen wedges and a set of Epon japanese forged irons (very nice). Most of the major manufacturers stuff (huge amount of Taylormade as they are a regional center for TM).

Loads of clothes (got a sale on), and the usual stuff. I was just looking for a nice golf jumper. Didn't find one. Did find a purple hat though. Important find that, as it will match my purple shoes.

Picked these up in the local discount golf store the other day, and although I wasn't overly impressed by the looks, its a different storey in the hands. But as you guys say, £1000 for a set of irons is ludicrus(sp)
