I am fairly consistent with my driver, but I do have a habit of messing up the occasional tee shot I hit with my Ping G15 3 wood.

As an alternative,I am considering trying a Callaway X Hot 3 deep.
I see they do a 13 & 14.5 degree versions.
I think maybe the 14.5 degree version could be a pretty handy alternative to the driver on some tighter holes?

Has anyone tried one, & if so, what did you think of it?

Very long for a 3 wood when you catch it right but not as easy to hit consistently well as the Ping G range.

I tried one when i had my driver fitting, went the same distance as my driver, so no good as a 3 wood. I could hit it well off the deck too but the main thing that got me was, for days my swing is off i would rather hit a big headed driver, far easier to hit that a small 3 wood head , which the deep has.

I have the 13 degree for use off the tee (i dont have a driver). It is a very low spin head and the stock shaft it comes with is also pretty low spin so it launches low, so you need a pretty high swing speed to get decent results out of it.

The low spin tends to mean my big hooks arent as bad and if really needed I can get it out there pretty much at driver distance

Not tried the 3 deep, but my 4 wood is the X-Hot Pro, and when you hit the middle it absolutely rockets off the face.

To be honest though, if you only mess the 'occasional' tee shot up I'd stick with what you have. I probably mess up 5 or 6 a round!
