Has anyone got a set of Callaway X HOT 2 irons, Pro or standard and care to let me know what they think of them. I am having a fitting/ test tomorrow of them to decide what I think and whether I order some

Thanks in advance

Am with you there Swanny , The Apex Pro irons are the ones , but a little pricey at the mo :(

Yeah, first thing I did when I got back from Wentworth last week was to check the price of the Apex's and quickly closed the page down. If and when they come down in price I might consider a set. Heck of a club though.

Are you panicking already Chris? Why not save yourself the cost of the new irons and just admit defeat and pay your £10 to H4H now :D

Quite the opposite John!

I was thinking that a change of clubs could get me down to 5 'ish handicap and then I could have done a challenge with a real golfer!!

Didn't think they felt or looked great. Nowhere as nice as the originals.

Much prefer my Apex Pro's :-) :-)

X Hot 2's felt dead off the face and weight wise felt heavier although all 3 new heads are the same. Recoil shafts are awesome too.

I hit some 6 iron shots round 5 holes last week and they went miles but just hooked a few so I decided to try the range of Callaway irons with different shafts to see if I can get good height, easy strike, decent distance with no hook.

I'll be heading to Callaway's Southern fitting centre in May or June for a Custom Fitting for the Apex irons. Hit them on the range the other night, and all I can say is WOW! Awesome.

Need to make sure I'm getting the right shafts and it's free if booked by your pro, so nothing to lose.

Even sweeter when you get them less than Trade price ;-)

justwaiting on my new x2 hot irons being delivered, i had a fitting on saturday and it was between mizuno jpx ez forged and the callaway's , chose the x2's has it had a slightly higher ball flight and the feeling off club face was exactly the same.
i am certainly no big hitter but these clubs will certainly help me, 3/4 swing with 9 iron was 130yds so pretty good for me.
One thing that was evident was that needed firm shaft with Mizuno but only regular with Callaway which proved to me it is all about the combination of clubhead weight as well as shaft weight and flex.
will keep you all posted when i start to use them on course.

I currently have 5.5 Project x in my AP 2's but they seemed different in the Callaways, so we'll see tomorrow!
