Yesterday, when I finished the MOT at he Golf DNA place, the pro handed me a sleeve of Cally SR-2s. I have hit the Hex chromes in the past and have very recently moved to ProV1s. My swing speed is between 95-100 on the driver, so the SR-2 is the correct ball. I will be gaming them this weekend, but wanted to check if the forumers had a view on it...

I was given 3 of them by Callaway, as my preferred ball type, at the end of Kings of Distance last week. I gave one to a mate to try and used the othe 2 in games since. I found them a pretty good ball, very similar in feel, to me, of the Bridgestone B330 Rx which I used to buy and liked - I don't think you'll be disappointed with them.

At the Callaway day we were all given a recommendation for one of the Speed Regime (SR) balls based on our swing speed in the Trackman driver fitting. I didn't even know that Callaway had a new ball out! Was expecting/hoping to maybe get a trial sleeve in the goodie bag but the marketing seems to have been very low key on them. I too would be interested in hearing from anybody who has used them.

Seems to be based on the opposing view to Titleist's that one ball will be best for all swing speeds. Might be a good subject for a GM equipment feature especially with the PRO V1 designer interview coming up.

Doh, I missed out on those. Were they being handed out with the goodie bags?

Don't fret Mike, we got better hats!

I got a dozen at the Filming/Fitting day and have been using them since.
Nice ball, not too Spinny, very much a ZStar/330RX rather than super-spin ProV. It probably sits between the ProV and the NXT Tour but 3/4 of the way towards the ProV - if you catch my drift....
Not as clicky off the putter than previous Callaway premium balls but not like putting a blob of butter!

They're not going to set the world alight as they don't have much Tour exposure but, like the Hex Black, a decent ball for our standard

Have to say I'm impressed with the SR1 - my speed range - though I'm at the top of it with 90.

Goes down as one of only a couple of Callaway balls I've actually liked - HX Tour 56 being the other one - and I've tried quite a few!

Thanks. Interesting. Agree on the hats! Way better! :D ;)

I have always liked the look of the Callaway balls with the hexagonal dimples so might give them a try. Seem to be so many good balls on the market at the moment.

Agree.. you are unlikely to lose 3 of them in a round.... :whoo:
(sorry could not resist)

I have been using the ones I was given at the king of Distance day. It is the first Callaway ball that I have actually liked the feel of with all the clubs in the bag.
Not sure about the durability of them though, a Pro V1 lasts for 3 or 4 rounds before it gets put in the practice bag, these only lasted 2-3 rounds.

Got one free from Callaways guys at Big Bertha St Andrews launch......I found it a very decent ball for my 95mph swing speed for the three holes I played it with before I pulled it into the gorse.
