Evening all,

I'm currently on a press event with Callaway and managed to steal a few minutes to take some very (shaky) behind the scenes pics of the new Callaway Razr XF irons. Premium price, maximum forgiveness. Pics are here: http://bit.ly/rnxBEf

Let me know what you think

Thanks,

Neil

Yuk! Well the back is certainly pretty horrible, at address they dont look too bad and I like the blackish hue. But I dont know if I could look at them in my bag.

I quite like the look of these, nice shape, top line seems ok, not sure about the dark colour but may look ok in the flesh.

Not sure theyll be enough to get me to part with my x-forgeds but you never know lol

Tappers,
Is that a strike mark on the hosel in the face-on shot?

Is that one on the toe :D

Don't like them.... Bulky, ugly, dull. Who looked at them and said, Yes.. that is our final design, they look good? :D

Like the look at address which would inspire a bit of confidence.
However not to keen on the overall look, would certainly have to try before making a decision.
I know we as consumers should not buy on looks alone, but it helps,so whoever designed these must be confident in the results.

Whats with the black theme....First Cobra and TM....Adams if memory is right...
And now because everyone else has painted their A** black Callaway follow suit.....

C'mon....Be a bit adventurous at least....

And whats with the sole of the club being kept silver... :D

As you can tell im not a huge Callaway fan.

Too much sole and a bit clunky - tho tbh the only Cally's I have ever liked was the xforged. Seem to be too big and rounded for my eye.

However, I like the black and silver colours.

Not a good looking iron but if it works.... fon't knock it.

Look at the G15/20 hybrid - pig ugly but you can't deny the performance.

I like the looks and would hae Callaway on my list to try for my nextset of irons but for that price I would want 2 sets.

What is it with these super high priced irons. Did Yonex not release a set at around the £1000.00 the other month. Can there be a market for GI iron at that price especially in current economic times

I like some of the Cally designs especially the X tour type models but these look frankly downright ugly and with a ridiculous price tag. I'm sure they'll give it the flannel about what you get for your money but sorry, not set for an average punter like me is worth that price tag. I bulked at £600 for the R11's

As some have said they have a nice face shape and a shockingly thin top line for a club with such a wide sole.

Kid: My understanding is that a black face over silver helps the eye not see the offset and top line so much. All the Titleist 910 woods are smoke black this year for that reason. One problem with that is that when you practice on mats the sole goes silver again, maybe that's why they left it silver. I hate the silver sole too, looks like the burner 2.0 irons... Ugly!

The price is huge, my whole bag can only have cost that much!! However the have marketing people and they must see a gap for wealthy people who will do anything to play better. I would want a Callaway girl to visit for the week for that sort of money...

That said, if the salesman could make me play of 12 with them I would give him £16000 for them.
