Nice video. Go Callaway!!!

I really like Cally woods since I nailed my first ever shot with one of the original Steelhead fairways. Have since had Hawkeye VFT, GBBII and HyperX drivers and Steelhead III and GBBII fairways and a Heavenwood 3h. All top quality clubs - look great and well made.

I thought I wouldn't like the short hosel design at first but really like it now and find it's the more traditional hosel that looks odd to me now.

Wonder how many of the 300 yard guys on here swing it as well the guy in the video with his 260 yard carry :D :D :D

Very much want to try the Razr Hawk. Callaway drivers seem to suit me and that looks a cracker.

I feel the same, I always trust Callaway for woods and when I get a new driver they will be my 1st port of call.

@MashieNiblick, It looks like he beats up on the ball but he does have a shortish back swing so maybe thats why hes sort of average. It would be interesting to see a robot do that test though, for all current drivers.

I think he said the dispertion numbers were good for the TM mind and that is more my current way of thinking.

If Callaway had an add campaign boasting a direct comparison I would think that they would have put the clubs through a robot test first.

Think that I like about Callaway is that they have not gone down the route of increasing shaft length every year to improve performance. I also think that they are genuine innovators without resorting to gimics.

Lamborghini tie in is a bit of a gimic, but ye on the tech side I agree. The build of my FT-iQ is stunning with the carbon head and beautiful titanium face. Very pro construction.

True but they did develop a whole new material together

Alvaro Quiros has a short backswing ;) Don't think it matters Alex.

hardly scientifically conclusive testing

too many variables

from the comments made below the video

The test is only measuring speed performance. The R11 isn't designed to provide distance through speed, it's done through flight optimization. Did they allow any adjustments to the R11 in this test...No, they didn't. Therefore the testing measures are unfair and the results are essentially bogus. The RAZR Hawk is 46" with a 460cc head. R11 is 45.75" with a 440cc head. Again, this makes the test unfair if you're only measuring for speed. Allow adjustments to the R11 and then see the truth

also the guy (BOBBY SIRAVOOOOOO) say its him hitting it not iron byron - No $**t!

he doesnt hit the r11 good once
"little on the heel"
"solid contact more, on the toe still"
"left and low" - so im guessing he's thinned it out the heel

also has he warmed up a little more swinging more freely on the 2nd club?

i dunno the answers to any of the points above, and tbh i dont really care :D

oh & lets face it

just goes to show technology is ruining the game,he's a pro and cant hit it out the sweetspot once from 3,even when its the size of a lemon ,on a club head the size of a grapefruit.just goes to prove anyone with only the slightest bit of talent can become a pro or become good these days. bet he'd have so many airshots playing anything less the a 400cc clubhead

this is why i say pros' of today arent necessarily better golfers than those of the past, technology just gives more opportunity to get away with poorer swing's/shots

pro nowadays can thrash it because the margin of error is there

@Bacardibatman I cant deny anything you have said but as you say "I dont care". Its just a bit of fun, you cant take it as anything more for the reasons you have stated.

If I were buying one of those clubs I would make sure I had had the best of them before I moved on to the next so the stats actually ment something.

It was odd thought how he could or did not hit the TM well. I would be PISSED to miss three drives in a row on the range.

yeah alex totally i mean to make the test fair they coulda just re-recorded it when he hit the TM well or the same as the Cally

what id love to see is "IRON BYRON" do all these new club side by side.

maybe GM could set it up as a feature for a future issue? - with all the makers there so they can set theyre club up the best(so they cant say there was bias) - would the manufacturers have the Bawls to put there clubs to the test?

what you think ppl should GM Make this Happen?

If you watch the Callaway hit he went for every one and on the R11 he went thru the montions, also the guy's place was full of Callaway bags with demo clubs and the young guy had a Callaway shirt on,me smells a bit of biased there :D

Not sure how scientific the results are (loose when hitting the Cally etc) but an interesting exercise. The guy needs to up his distance to get a place on here though where 300+ is the standard these days. I do think both clubs have their good points and their faults but like every type of club its horses for courses.
