These new balls are out today 4thsept, but managed to play one during the week :)

the ball is still the impressive chrome soft ball but with a difference lol, meant to be easier to see ?? in the fading light that's not quite the case or in heavy rough, and when putting they do look err different

or does it look to like a little football lol ??

Anybody else seen these ??

I like the chrome softs a lot, a very good ball and I'd argue all most amatuers will ever need in terms of spin/distance at a decent price. And from all I've read a lot of others seem to agree. So why do Callaway put some tacky shapes on them for increased 'focus and visibility'? I mean, really, are they trying to corner the market for people that can't see their ball properly on the tee?

They just seem a company lead now by their marketing department with the engineering/development team a poor second.

truvis has been around for years. Its supposed to make the ball look easier to hit or something.

my balls are either dirty or faded pick ups - so no problem seeing them - especially with the humungous felt pen markings some players scrawl over their balls as identification marks. real mess. tut!

I've noticed some pros mark their balls in this way. Allegedly helps you focus on which part of the ball you want to hit.

I quite like the truvis myself, theyve always been really pricey though. They are very good when practising putting too, you can see very easily how good a roll you have put on the ball
