Has anyone tried these?

They appear to be aimed as an inexpensive alternative to Pro V's, but as I don't have much familiarity with Cally balls thought I'd ask for opinions.
At £30 rather than £50 they are quite an attractive proposition if they are any good.

They feel nice off irons, but I don't like them for putting (but I'm crap at putting)
I would say if you like the feel of a pro v1 off the putter you won't like them

There are some awesome balls in what I would call mid premium price (25-35)

Srixon ad333 tour
Taylormade project (a)
Nxt tour s

I would happily game any of these! Currently working my way through a box of nXt s.

I always seem to find deals on "premium" balls that make them the equivalent cost per box.

Snainton are/were doing 4 dozen for the price of 3 on prov1, TM tour preferred etc which made them about £25 a dozen. I think all online retailers might have been doing it?

Tried the Chrome soft and didn't really like it, felt weird chipping and putting to me.

I got a dozen to try, decent, remind me of a wilson FG tour, similar soft feel of the irons (compression is similar). Performance no different to any other urethane covered 3 piece ball, in my amateur hands.

Had a box of these, imo they performed well, felt as good as anything else off the driver and irons. Good level of spin off the short clubs, had no issues chipping with it or putting in general... It was short putts that I hated, being such a soft feeling ball it felt as if I hadn't hit the thing at all, no feedback at all. Will mention the durability, i used one for 5 rounds, by which time it was ready for the practice bag. For some reason a pro v1 has done well if I'm still using it on the 10th tee, split one recently by the time I'd reached the second green. Makes it an expensive ball.

Agree with the aforementioned, ad333 tour is a great ball, as is the z star.

I agree with what Rooter said, these along side the TM project As and AD333 tours are very good balls without paying the premium price. And I am sure the vast majority of amateurs will struggle to tell the difference between these and the premium range from the same manufacturers.

You can get the cally for 25 notes from golf depot and the project a for the same price from ebay. Also I see golf depot are doing some blemished/logo over run TM TP and TPx balls for 23 notes. Which is you can put up with the logo over run is a good deal.

Never been a fan of Cally balls. Too clicky and firm off the putter and wedges for my liking but that's a personal thing. As others have said with some shopping around you can find a premium brand somewhere on sale at a similar price

Would you say this one is as clicky as previous models?

I'm with Rooter here, the AD 333 Tour and NXT S balls are very good, I currently giving the new Mizuno JPX ball a go, not managed to lose it yet even after playing two rounds with it.

It appears on most sites at £30 so the same price as the chrome balls.

I like and prefer the AD333 for winter & Tour for summer combo, I tried these soft Cally's and didn't like them when putting, I do however like the Cally Hex Black, its not clicky IMO and is great off the tee.

It certainly isn't, it's very soft feeling.
I'm guessing he hasn't actually tried it.

Study, is it as soft as, say, the Supersoft or soft as in ProV soft....?
I'd like to try it but don't want to buy a dozen - can't find anywhere near me that sells sleeves..

I don't use a pro v1, but it is softer feeling than the prov1x, I guess because of the lower compression. I don't believe it would be as soft as a supersoft, but probably closer to that than a pro v1, it has the urethane cover so spin performance is like a pro v.
I find it similar to the wilson FG tour, have you ever used that ball?

What's funny is that the wilson has been around for a few years now and is a 3 piece low compression urethane cover ball, yet apparently the chrome soft, a mighty 5 compression points lower, is "the ball that changed the ball"... Yeah ok then... They basically copied the Wilson and marketed it better!

I got some of the AD333 Tours yesterday, the course is drying out nicely but the ball still stopped pretty well and seemed to go long off the tee.
Will keep trying them to see if they replace Pro V1x's as my ball of choice.

Thanks for all the advice
