Hey guys i got a set of big bertha 2002 irons and they got an insane amount of offset,i read that the x 14's have less offset and are easier to hit and that they are the type of game improvement irons that can help you and grow into.
is this true.has anyone here tried these sets and what is your experience with both sets like.and what are your likes and dislikes.im a handicapper 23.and thinking of getting some x 14.

The X-14s weren't exactly in the crazy league of offset, but then again, they also weren't the best club Callaway made.
They were popular at the time as there was almost nothing out there to match them in terms of forgiveness.
The BB 2002 irons are insane. They are mega chunky and nasty offset with a sole totally unsuited to anything but lush fairways.
I still use the 4 iron to this day as it is the easiest club to draw I've ever owned.

If you want to get a different set of Callaways, you should try out the 14s and the 18s and the 20s. The 16s were the most forgiving, but also big and ugly.

The Big Bertha range became the "even more suited to hackers" irons whilst the X series were at least reasonably in the land of normal to look at.

If you get the ball in the air good, have a tendency to hook not slice and play on normal courses without grass mattresses under the ball every time, get some X series. If you lash at it with a fast swing speed, maybe even X series are too bottom heavy. For that, there is always the "pro" series, which into the land of regular cavity back.
