Callaway 1.5 mini driver

morning all,

my current Ping driver is on the naughty again and i was thinking of getting a mini driver. I love my tight lies 3 wood but need a bit more distance off the tee but i am not a fan of the massive clubhead's that all drivers now have.

For those on here who use one, what are your views on them?

Mini drivers don't work for me.
I can get a similar distance from a 3 wood without resorting to longer shafts and less loft.
But they do work for so e so you need to try one.

i have the aero burner. 12degree. It takes a good swing off the fairway, but it's effortless off the tee.

Apparently the the callawya has a longer shaft so would probably go a little further still, but for me, the point of a 3 wood is increased accuracy.

I just sold mine! Was having a torrid time with the driver so switched to it, 44" long, bigger head that a 3 wood, I had the 12 set to 11, nice and easy to hit off the tee, I'd say 15 yards short of my Sunday best with the driver, but the misses were less wild. Have since regained full confidence in my driver

I had a Taylormade mini driver which I swapped for the Callaway one, which I swapped for a 915 D2 driver which magically turned into an M2 driver yesterday

My mini has the same length shaft as most of my 3 woods, and more loft than any of them (16). The larger and incredibly forgiving head being the key to its confidence giving abilities in my hands.

I have the tm mini as well as a driver. In theory its used on tighter holes or the shorter par 4s. Is a weapon in the right hands

Well I took the plunge and bought one off ebay. The seller was local so I picked it up after work and the went to local range.
just hit 50 balls on 12° neutral and fcuk me this thing is amazing!
I feel so much happier with the smaller head size
Hopefully it will the same on the course tomorrow on my firms golf day.
