In three weeks time my club will host a LET event and I volunteered for caddying. So I will carry a bag for a - hopefully young & nice - lady.

Any tips. What are the dos and donts as a caddy?

1. Dont give them any swing tips.
2. If they ask, tell them their bum doesn't look big in those shorts (even if it does)
3. Keep a chipper handy in the bag (just kidding ladies)
4. Dont wander off to the beer tent half way round.

don't give them a putting line without them asking for it first. make sure the clubs are wiped clean before going back in the bag and clean before you hand them over to the player.

if she's cute, get her number :o)

Do: give accurate yardages when asked

Don't: stare at her backside when she is lining up a putt

Do: have everything needed in the bag to meet any eventuality

Don't: suggest renting a push trolly to help your back

Do: stay silently professional when a bad shot is played

Don't: tut (for your player) or laugh (any other player) when the above happens

Finally...

Don't: ever shout "geddddinnndddaaahooolllleeee" after a tee shot.

basically it's don't speak until you are spoken to, if you know the yardage they know the club and wind direction etc.Oh and if your caddying for Tiger remember to put the spitoon in the bag! ;)

of course, there is always the possibility that even if you did walk behind her, the view might not be that good......

did a lot of `bag carryin` when we were kids at st.andrews - caddie master always told us there was three golden rules ..... turn up - keep up - shut up !!! hope u get a bag and she does well ...
gcd :D :D

Keep up, keep the clubs and ball clean, replace the divots. Give the yardages if asked and otherwise keep out of the way. Be aware of other players lines on the greens, leave the bags at the exit to the next tee, and don't leave the flag on the green but hold it or pass it another caddy.

As for Laura D. I reckon she's got her personal caddy. Btw she is defending champion but browsing though the entry list her name was missing, other past winners were Sophie Gustafson and Federica Piovano.
