Has anyone used a Caddietech X0 or X1 GPS? They look like they do everything I would want from a golf GPS at a really good price but there isn't a review of them anywhere on the internet. Before I take the plunge it would be good hear from anybody with first hand experience.

Cheers!

Welcome to the forum!

Not heard of them but for an extra £30 you could have a Garmin S1 (in Direct/American golf) or for another £8 a Garmin G3 on Amazon, both of which get good many reviews. Lots of skycaddie fans on here too but you have to pay a yearly subscription for that which makes it unattractive to some.

Is there a reason you want the voice facility of the Caddietech? Personally I wouldn't want a device making noise on the course! But like I say I haven't used them.

Thanks Curl,

I'm not bothered about the voice being there or not - all I am really after is a non-subscription GPS with shot distance measuring and a comprehensive course database under £100. I'll take a look at the Garmin but really had sub £100 as my target.

Cheers

Jim

No worries, could definitely pick up a used S1 for under £100 on ebay, as usual with the associated risks... I've bought an awful lot of my golf gear on ebay, its great as long as you're careful who you buy from.

Caddietech might be the best thing ever but if you use the search function on this forum you will see endless gps/ dmd threads in which you will hear plenty about skycaddie, garmin, even lasers etc and plenty food for thought

I'll trawl the forums tonight - it is very strange that I can't find any reference to Caddietech in any forum or any magazine. Enough to put me off I think.

The garmin can b found at tesco online for 118 I think with ten quid off electricals.. Factor in any clubcard points you may have and it's a bargain!

If going via Tesco, don't forget to search the web for a discount code.
I bought the Garmin a few months ago,the price then was £88 before the discount code came off.
Actual cost to me was £78.00

Never heard of them. I know both GM and T have done GPS reviews and can't remember them being featured and if you can't find too much about them on the web that would set alarm bells ringing. Plenty of other options out there
