Help please fellow forumers.

I need to do some basic CAD work.

Can anyone recommend any suitable (free downloadable) software working on Win 7.

Thanks

Try AXCAD it's very simular to autocad and they have a free trail download. I have the full version, and it was about £250

this is no help at the minute, as i dont know of any free downloadable versions of the software, but if you need any help to actually use it just ask. im on it all day most days :)

Quite a few of the Architects that I do work for think Google Sketchup is brilliant. Apparently the free version is quite well featured too.

RobC.

Ive used that to do a few product model drafts, its great for "sketching" out ideas :D

Draftsight is still my suggestion and I stick by that one!

(who knew a research scientist would need these things eh?)

Don't you just love this forum. Post a simple question and war breaks out (almost). Mine's better. No mine is. But I can draw a line 250M long with a single click. Yeh, but mine goes 350 M if I use this software.

Just joshing chaps.

Thanks for your input. :)

Some softwares will be easier to use than others, if their free downloads I'd try them all. From the demo I got from a mate who was new to cad draining it looked pretty simple and there was hours of free video tutorials available too,

Ps if you use a Dunlop mega mouse tour from sports direct it allows you to draw a 400m line in one click and that's into a head wind :)
