Did anybody else see Mickelson play the last three holes last night?
Whatever you think of him, his short game is a thing of great beauty and watching him play 16,17 and 18 was worth the admission fee alone.

I think back in the 80's Doral was one of the most feared courses on tour with the water and long carries to clear it. Now it has been made just another average course with the advances in technology. The 18th use to be a do or die drive to get enough distance to even consider going for the green. Now they bomb it miles down and come in with ambivalence

I agree Homer. For me Doral has now become very average. This is, in the main, due to the distance these guys can hit it.
The big booming drives don't really cut it for me, but watching the player's short games (a la Mickelson last night) is great entertainment.
