Custom fitting today for a whole new set of woods! After having lessons it's clear my woods are wrong for me but cant wait to get fit and get some new shinnies in the bag will update on what clubs I get! :D

I'm in similar position but contemplating changing the whole bag (other than putter).

Did you work with teaching pro, go to shop or manuf fitting centre? Did brand play a part - I wish they were all logo free and matt black to try but I can't help feel that brand pre-perception will play a part.

I'm also interested in what you are thinking by changing 'woods'. For me, the concept of 1-3-5 is long gone given where hybrids are now so I'm sort of thinking about 1w 4w and perhaps a extra hybrid? Don't know. I see from your current set you have taken a similar route. Off 16, how do you find your 3w - I struggle with mine, esp of the deck?

I've been putting off fitting until I know I can turn up and rely on myself hit well to get the best of the day and hence right outcome but also worry that if I wait for a predictable perfect 'A' game it may be some time.

Really keen to hear how you get on.

Yeah basically I have lessons with one of the many pro's at golf support and the results have been brilliant! However my driver I have always felt is too much loft for me but was purely bought to cut out the slice when I was refusing to have lessons! Now i'm having lessons the loft isn't needed as I'm starting to draw the ball and height is actually losing yards.

The 3 wood I like but like yourself off a tee it's fine hit it off the deck and it's a whole new ball game and well the hybrid less said about that better! Lets just say on that one it was put in my hands coz it was on special at AG! The real issue with my game is I'm a long hitter however due to my driver mostly just spinning up in the air the 3 wood and the driver go the same distance so looking to try and solve this. Open to anything gonna go along with open mind and see what the numbers suggest! Will post results afterwards :)

Order made! After an enjoyable afternoon hitting various drivers, fairway woods and hybrids on the market with various different shafts. I have gone nice and simple and have ordered nike covert 2.0's in the stock stiff shafts! Nice and easy ayyy? Tried everything there was but nothing for me came close to the results of these clubs with my swing! Was hitting easy 270 yard drives with a slight draw on them with the driver set in 9.5, so the words sold couldn't come quick enough out my mouth. Wasn't impressed at all with the likes SLDR, bio cell and x2 hot. The only one that came close was the big bertha but at the price difference no challenge at all!

Several fairway woods and hybrids were tested, had a try with lower lofted hybrid but the flight was nowhere as penetrating as with that of a 3 wood. The Nike seems to have a lot smaller head than my old rbz which for me felt I could use it more often and with distance getting out to 250 again was an easy call! The hybrid made me laugh as all of the pros felt they had to have a go with what they called an absolutely horrendous club so the adams v3 is long gone with nike replacement providing better numbers and much much more straighter! Can't wait to test the new gear and hopefully hit more fairways and greens and get lower! :D

wow - you don't hang around.

Sounds a great day at the shops! Do you have to wait or was the stuff assembled / in stock for you to get out on the course with soon?
