...a nice shiny new driver!

After procrastinating for some time about whether to upgrade my trusty R9, the change has been made. A very decent month in the comps saw my pro shop account balance reach triple figures and my birthday earlier in the month meant I had some cash to splurge. Could I resist? Uh...no!

Suffice to say I tried countless drivers - some good, some bad - but a clear winner emerged and it wasn't the i20 which I had my heart set on. It was the Titleist 910 D2. The one driver I somehow hadn't even considered. As soon as I hit it I knew it was the one. Was lucky enough to take a demo version out in the right shaft and boy did it work it's magic. First few swings were pap but then it was fairway after fairway. Excellent feel off the face - a lot more solid than I'm used to thanks to a slightly firmer shaft. The ball flight on the good ones (which so far has been most) has been bullet straight and even into a strong headwind I was hitting it as far as my R9 on a still day.

Played a Medal round with it on Sunday too, and despite a nett 77 in very tough conditions, it was more of the same. Only one 'bad' one, but even that was acceptable. Driving has always been one of my strengths but I've never been so confident with a club in my hands. It is a monster and I can't believe it has taken me this long to find it!

Looking forward to another 'under pressure' test with it at Woodhall!! :D

Really is a cracking club you will not go wrong with it, forgiving as well for Titleist can't see me swapping for a long time now, also with surefit it is easy to swap shafts around albeit not cheap. Enjoy

Not really in the market for a driver but the RBZ keeps calling my name. Still want to hit the I20 in anger. Never really been a fan of Titleist but now Hawkeye has got the full bag and seeing how well (usually) he plays with it I'm tempted. Tried the D2 once last year. The pro gave me the demo (10th right outside the pro shop) and I spanked it ten yards past my decent drive. It might be a sign

The RBZ is great properly goes, I tried the i20, G20 and the RBZ and it was by far the straightest and most accurate. But each to their own. I wish I could've afforded the 910 D2 but it was out of my price range. But the RocketBallz is just as good and on offer in *Cough AG Cough*

If you shop aroung there are deals to be had on the D2. There is also the used option as well I paid £160 for mine and other than marks on the underneath of the club it was as good as new.

clubs have a habit of doing this. Performing really well when you are looking at upgrading, but as soon as money exchanges hands, they go cold on you and refuse to work!

Fingers crossed Titleist have made a friendly club for you to use, and you create a solid friendship!!

I bought myself a Callaway Diablo Edge driver last year, i'm happy with it, but my mate has just bought a RBZ (13 degree), i've had a go with it 3 times and hit three long straight shots, (further than the Diablo), so impressed with it that even though i only splashed out on my driver last year that i'm seriously considering buying the RBZ.

Incidently, another mate has an R11, and i've hit it once, so maybe not fair to make a comparison, but i'd had the (cheaper) RBZ anyday.

Good arn't they. I have the Ilima but in stiff flex I am thinking of getting a regular flex shaft to put in it as I think I could get more out of it.

I absolutley love it. The missus keeps telling me to leave it alone when I get it out and have a waggle in the living room. Nothing wrong with that though is there?

always had titleist stuff and i'll tell you what i splashed out and traded in to get my 910 d3 an it's the best purchace i've ever made.never found titleist to be any less forgiving or shorter than any other make, and its def more consistent an accurate as others i've tried
